Lake access can be found off the cul-de-sac at the end of Marsh Hill Road. Walk down the gravel road to the trailhead that will lead you down to the lake. No Dock Slip. Use caution on the stairs at the lake as they can be slippery when wet. View Map to Lake Access Here.

Had plenty of room for 14 people - neither living area is sufficient for that many people but if you spread out its ok.

Nice house but had a couple minor issues. Had a broken light switch & the sliding door to deck fell out but someone came within the hour to fix. Other than those things, the house was great.

The house is big beautiful and spacious. The location is awesome as everything you need is with in a 20 minute drive. The maintenance of home is not as great. There had been no updates or maintenance as it relates to prior reviews and things that needed to be addressed.

My group and I had an awesome time at this rental. Super spacious, clean, and comfortable. The place was great shape when we got there and it was clear they put a lot of effort into keeping the place and property spotless. The location itself had an amazing view and was on a quiet street. We really enjoyed the vicinity to the docks and general closeness to shops and restaurants.

Place reflects exactly what was described and was perfect for our vacation. Quiet area with quick access to the docks. Very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The fire pit and hot tub were a great bonus. Would highly recommend!

Stayed for a weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. When we arrived we shortly noticed the floors were not mopped and were a bit dirty. We had to mop them ourselves. The floors were squeaky as well and it was very easy to hear folks walking around - which may be problematic for larger parties. Beyond that, the views from the back deck were great. We did not take advantage of the lake access nearby, and opted to drive the 20min to the deep creek sand beach. Recommendation: download offline maps to your phone in advance of your trip as there are spots that don’t receive great/any cellular coverage. Starting directions from the driveway often would not load except for the offline map options. We hope to be back to deep creek next year and will check out another of Railey Vacation’s options!

Has a great view of the lake. Not as kid friendly as other houses we have rented. Felt it catered more to the winter season than summer. We were disappointed with lake access. My fault should have done more research before booking. As a previous reviewer said it ends up in a pretty unusable space for water activities and we had to do some work to figure out where it was. Small kitchen for a hose holding that many people but it worked. Nice pantry storage space.

Beautiful house by Deep Creek Lake

Wilderness WalkThis home is perfectly situated near Deep Creek Lake with stunning views overlooking the water. The location offers plenty to explore—great restaurants, lively bars, and charming shops are all close by.We stayed here for a family vacation and appreciated the spacious layout, with seven bedrooms and ample bathrooms to accommodate everyone comfortably. The kitchen was well-equipped and large enough for preparing big family meals with ease.The only downside was the unreliable WiFi, especially in the master bedroom, where it rarely connected. This created a challenge for two family members who needed to attend work Zoom meetings and had to find a local coffee shop instead. Additionally, a ceiling fan took five days to be repaired, which seemed to be more of an issue with the rental agency than the owner.Overall, it was a wonderful trip in a beautiful setting, with just a few service hiccups.

Every year we pick a different house, especially due to the growth of our family. We all said this was by far the best house for our family. The only down is that we can't bring 2 dogs...that would make it perfect! Location, views, access, amenities...couldn't ask for more. Very well equipped too...kitchen especially!!

The wilderness walk was a great place to host the first family reunion in over 15 years. Everyone was comfortable, the setting was beautiful, and it was incredibly close to the water and wildlife. It was great and I would rent the space again!

The house could have been cleaner. I couldn't turn on the fan in our bedroom because there was so much dust on the fan. We had small children and it was hard for them to nap and go to bed at night because the walls were thin. The wifi went out one day so I called IT help number and left a VM message. I waited 2 hours and no one returned my call so I called back and did get help then and he apologized that no one returned my call initially. He did come and fix the issue. The directions to the access area are not clear and when I called for more details, they sent a generic message directing me to the access area for a different neighborhood. I wasn't impressed with Railey Management's customer service.

Overall this is a very nice house and was clean. I would certainly stay at the Wilderness Walk again but not with 12 buddies on a golf trip. The kitchen is a bit small for a large group. My main problem with not rating this a 5 star was there were only 11 beds and the description said 12 and why I chose this place. One of our guys had to sleep on the main floor couch and didn’t sleep too well.

First time in Deep Creek and this place really was beautiful. So much space, we had the maximum # of people and not once did it feel like we needed more space. The jacuzzi was a nice touch and the fire pit. Overall happy because it’s kinda away from everything but you still get a unique view of the lake. The beds? 10/10. The bed in the master room is MASSIVE, insanely cozy. I’ve traveled a lot and this for sure is my favorite airbnb, I have nothing negative to say.

A beautiful home that was great for our extended family. The location of the bedrooms allows for families to spread out. The kitchen layout can be a little tight if you have several people working in there. (The shape of the peninsula and the refrigerator door block easy access). The view of the lake is gorgeous. We saw several bears during our stay and many deer wondering the neighborhood in the evening.

Wilderness Walk had great accommodations for our family reunion trip to Deep Creek and was a wonderful property to rent. It had comfortable beds, great views, enough seating on the deck for a large group, functioning A/C, a working ice maker, was very clean, and had a well-maintained hot-tub. The firepit was a great touch for enjoying the summer evenings and I imagine the indoor fireplace is great for winter. The main inconvenience was there was only one refrigerator in the home and it's a standard kitchen size, so fitting food for a group was a little difficult and the property could really benefit from an additional fridge given the number it can accommodate. We all had coolers though, so made it work, and it was a minor inconvenience - just something to be mindful of while planning. The walkable lake access from the property is a pretty walk but the access point isn't suitable for much beyond fishing in stagnant shallow water, though the house is conveniently located to other lake access a short drive away. The bears here are also no joke, there was a 400-500lb. mom with three cubs at the top of the driveway one morning, one evening two cubs physically knocked into the glass front door, another night a cub climbed onto the upper back porch while we were inside, and we saw other adult bears exploring trashcans while driving out of the neighborhood, so definitely heed all bear safety warnings. No bears approached us directly while we were enjoying the outdoors in the evenings though. Overall we had a wonderful stay, it was a pleasant property, and I would highly recommend for a group.

This place was perfect for my group, and as someone cooking for 13 I really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was with good cookware and utensils. Upon arrival everything was clean and today and I had a nice welcome bag and a great view looking out over the lake! Definitely recommend this place for large groups.

We loved the location to all the fun things we did! The bedrooms were spaced out in the house to give all of the family groups privacy. There were 16 of us (9 adults and 7 kids). We would love to rent this house out again. We will have lots of fun memories of this week!

Our large family of 16 enjoyed our family reunion at Wilderness Walk. The 7 bedrooms are large and apart from the other bedrooms so there is plenty of privacy and the noise level is minimal! It is a short drive to all the fun things in Deep Creek. All of us loved our stay here!!

I expected better quality and decor with the price we paid. Wasn’t horrible but will not rent again unless there are some updates. The house overall is beautiful and has so much potential with a little more attention.

Drove in from Ohio, North Carolina, and New Mexico for a weekend family reunion. The house was perfect for what we needed. Plenty of room, lots of great views. Would recommend this house for anyone looking for a good mountain lake to rest and relax at.

This home had so many wonderful features. Large and spacious so we did not feel cramped. The beds were all comfortable with the extra foam topper. The kitchen was very well stocked and layed out nice. We appreciated the welcome bag and the setting was terrific with a view of the lake. We really enjoyed our stay.

Its not that we didnt like the home, but there was enough things wrong that left us overall disappointed. I had to tske a hammer and hammer in numerous nails on the deck that were sticking up that would have absolutely cut up any of my families feet, especially my kids who wanted to go out on the deck in their bare feet.

So sorry to hear this stay was not up to expectations, Gary. We never want our guests to feel as though they need to maintain or work on anything in our rental homes, you're on vacation! Perfect for our extended family

Wilderness Walk was perfect for our family ski trip. All 18 of us fit very comfortably, without feeling like we were on top of each other. The teens and adults alike loved the game room. The only downside was the steep, short driveway, which made shuffling 7 cars really tricky. Had it been covered in snow, we would have been sliding into each other! All in all a fantastic house that we will be sure to visit again!
