Waterfront Hideaway is tucked against the water's edge in the highly-coveted Carmel Cove. This section of the lake is often sought-after for being one of the quietest and most tranquil on the lake; an area of the lake where you can splash and play, undisturbed, because it is a ‘No Wake’ zone. Deep Creek Lake State Park, which is just minutes away, shares this tranquil cove with the homes on Laurel Lane. You're not too far from winter skiing at the Wisp or their summer activities that include go-karts, a rope course, putt putt, arcades, and a mountain coaster. At the home, you are sure to want to spend countless hours down at the beachside private clubhouse and patio (with refrigerator), lounging in the outdoor hot tub, sitting with friends and family on the covered deck, or picnicking on your private dock. You are sure to have fun at Waterfront Hideaway!

It was our first trip back to Deep Creek in over 20 years and we had a wonderful week! Waterfront Hideaway provided a great escape for our family vacation. Pros: The house was situated in a very tranquil and private area at the end of the lane, but it was close enough to many activities. Although we will note that our tranquility was interrupted four times during the week - twice for hot tub cleanings, once each for lawn service and linen delivery. A heads up when these would be occurring would have been appreciated. We especially liked the awesome welcome binder that the owners put together. It provided lots of interesting and useful information and proved to be very helpful during our stay. The house contained a great variety of fun spaces. We particularly enjoyed the propane tabletop fire ,the Buck and Doe Lounge and the deck off of the living room. The home was set up very efficiently. There were multiple ways to access the outside which provided good traffic flow. There was more than ample room for our family of five The bedrooms were comfortable and private. The number of large bathrooms was a welcome treat. We wish that the previous renters had cared for the home more lovingly. We arrived to a glass coffee pot with a hole in it, some dirty dishes and utensils in the drawers and cabinets and a trashed fire pit area and lakeside bar. Cons: The path to the fire pit and lake is much steeper than it appears in the photos. If you have a family member with mobility issues. it is a difficult climb at best, at worst it is nearly impossible to to navigate. Although we were aware that 4WD is necessary in the winter months, we feel that 4WD is necessary year round. One little nitpick is that there was not much space inside of the lakeside bar area for people due to much of the space being dedicated to the owner's supplies. Overall a great house - very homey and well cared for by the owners .

I paid for early check in and the home waa not ready. There were wasp nests on the front porch and back deck The big bedroom on first floor was missing the remote for air unit. I called maintenance several t I mes and no one came. The kitchen on l y had seats for 8 and we w were a family of 12

Very nice house and plenty of amenities. Only issue was that the wifi did not work on arrival and we didn't have cell phone reception to call the property manager. We did get it resolved the next day however. We loved the kitchen being fully stocked with everything we needed and plenty of activities for the kids. Great stay!

Such a beautiful home. You can tell the owners love and care for it. The location is the best for those of us who don't love the deep water and wake of the main part of the Lake. We had a wonderful week of peace and quiet, paddling and birdwatching.

The cove where the home is located is perfect for relaxing and swimming of the dock. We had two bear encounters which was fantastic. Right outside our bedroom window. My wife loves bears so this made the entire trip for her. All the kids (9) of them had a fantastic time. We spent more time together as a family on this lake vacation than we ever did at the beach.

The house was very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed kayaking, floating on our rafts and fishing on the quiet cove. Waterfront Hideaway was perfect for my family and 2 young grandchildren. The house was very clean. When we had issues with no internet and a missing TV remote Railey sent a repairman out right away and got us all fixed up. Despite rain most of the week the house and Deep Creek Lake area had plenty to keep us busy and making memories. This was our second time visiting DCL and we will return. My only suggestion is for the house to have a 9x13 casserole pan :)

We had so much fun on our vacation! The house was amazing, the view was beautiful, and the location was perfect. We were hidden away just enough that we had our privacy but weren't in the middle of nowhere. We were so close to all the things we wanted to do, and the house was equipped for plenty of items to have a fun day inside. We spent most of our time down at the little bar they had right on the lake. The only thing we noticed was that the house could use a good deep clean; the baseboards and door trim, one of the showers just seemed like it had been a while since it had been used, little things here and there. I bring a cleaning bucket when we go anywhere so it was no big deal, and we also figured it might just be the beginning of the season. All in all this was our favorite vacation and we will definitely be booking the same house for next year!

Very Relaxing

This property was very "homey" and relaxing. The kitchen is VERY well stocked. My 2 kids enjoyed the hot tub and sledding down the hill in the backyard. We were able to hook up the Firestick to the TV in the basement for movie nights! We are a TV family, so I loved that all the bedrooms had a TV. There was an assortment of puzzles/games in the rec room. My only concern was the heating in the basement. Despite having all three of the basement units turned on, there was a constant "chill" in the air down there, likely due a draft from one of the sliding glass doors....? Also, the Wi-fi is a little slow... Otherwise, a great , relaxing and fun atmosphere for my family! We will be sure to rent Waterfront Hideaway in the future.

Christmas Getaway

Since we were unable to have a family vacation this year, we decided to go to Deep Creek for Christmas. The best decision. We had a White Christmas. Since we are living during a pandemic, I was prepared to clean the house to ensure we would be comfortable. I started cleaning the kitchen but found it was clean. We all felt comfortable and was really able to relax. The house is beautiful and had a bathroom for each bedroom. It was great. We didn't have to share bathrooms :) I highly recommend this house.

Thanksgiving at the lake

My family and I had a wonderful time at the lake for Thanksgiving. The house was clean and we appreciated the welcome bag. Our electricity suddenly went out which also knocked out the water. I have to commend the team at Railey. They responded quickly to getting our electricity back on. They responded to all 5 of my calls when I was worried that the water would not get turned back on before the end of the day because the next day was Thanksgiving. When their maintenance person could not fix the water they promised they would send an expert and held true to that promise. Despite the unforseen circumstances Railey made sure we were able to continue to enjoy our stay. Thank you. We will be back.

Everything was great! The only negative thing I can say is the WiFi was not great and we didn’t have internet service. This made it very difficult to check in and check out.

Currently this home only offers DSL strength internet and the internet provided by your cell phone provider may be a bit spotty throughout this entire area of Deep Creek Lake. We absolutely enjoyed everything about this place! Although it rained most of the week, we were still able to enjoy our vacation by shopping and dining in the nearby towns and just enjoyed the amenities that were available to us in the home. We definitely plan to come back and try other properties. Great job Railey Vacations!!

We would want a home where rental boats can be parked at the dock — I wouldn’t rent on lake only to find out it is only cove on lake that rental boats can get under bridge. Way too much seaweed at dock— kids can’t swim or play off dock!

Sharon, our sincerest apologies that you felt misinformed of the dock situation. We do try our best to indicate that homes located in this particular area should acquire boats of a smaller size due to the fact that you have to cross under a bridge of lower height to access the dock. This information is indicated on the listing as well as within the community information provided with both your contract and your pre-arrival email stating "pontoon boats not recommended". The trade off is that your dock is located in a quieter, no-wake zone which is great for fishing and swimming. Please feel free to reach out to our wonderful reservations team for options on another accommodation in the future and we'd be happy to find you a home with a dock suitable for a larger boat. - Jenn, Railey Vacations
