Tucked away in a canopy of trees, this cozy chalet is the perfect place for family to come together and enjoy a much needed retreat. Located in the quiet Heron Cove community, you can enjoy plenty of peace and quiet while relaxing on the deck, by the campfire, or in the bubbles of the hot tub. Inside the home there is a plethora of amenities to keep you and the kids entertained on the colder or rainier days. On the bright and sunny days, head out to enjoy all that the area has to offer! Shopping, arcades, mini golf, multiple state parks and many fantastic restaurants are just the start of what you can do during your stay. When you are ready to wind out for the evening, there is nothing better than s’more around the campfire, or curling up in front of a fireplace for a family movie night! Private lake front. Dock slip is located at the community docks off of Boyd Paugh Lane. Path to the docks is located all the way to the end. Please note that docks are only guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

The property was amazing! We loved the home and the surroundings. We would definitely book this home again. Due to well issues we had to move. The home we had to move to was also beautiful but not the location we were looking for. We have not yet been appropriately accommodated for our forced move and the resulting loss of boat time, move, investment.

It's big

The home is very large and accommodating. Although slightly dated it has many nice amenities. Caution should be taken on the wooden decks and stairs. Because the house is heavily shaded by the surrounding trees some green sort of algae is growing in places them. The front steps are especially slick. When wet and covered with some leaves they are VERY slippery. Even though we were careful to watch our step, my daughter did fall. Fortunately, she just got a few bumps and was able to walk it off. Only other issue was we were initially given the wrong door code which caused a short entry delay. Otherwise, all good.

We appreciate you taking the time out to leave us with your feedback Randy and truly apologize for any issues that you had during your stay. We take our guests safety very seriously and will be sure to alert the homeowners as well as property management to examine the issue at hand and take the necessary steps to remedy the slippery steps. We also apologize for the miscommunication concerning the door code. The property is very basic with little being added or done to improve the visitor's experience. The lakeside is a muddy bank along the thinnest bit of water. The carpets are in serious need of cleaning or replacement as there are large stains that were very off putting. When we arrived one of the beds was broken and although Railey promptly came to prop it up, it should have been replaced or repaired beforehand by the owners because it was very obvious to see that it was broken. A wasted part of our weekend away to deal with it.

We stayed in Summerside for Memorial weekend. We had 10 people and the house was perfect for everyone. The main level was cleverly split into 3 different areas, so we could spread out but still be close to everyone. We had one area set up for relaxing and reading, the other area had a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle set up for us to go back and forth and add pieces etc (it was a really hard one, but we got it finished) and the third area, the one on the middle with kitchen, dining table and living area was where we ate, drank and played music and games etc. The house was right on the lake, although it was the very end of one of the fingers, so was not the prettiest area, but still nice. The lower level had it's own living area and game room, so the young adults in our group had their own space with easy access to the fire pit and hot tub. All in all, we had a really great weekend and would love to rent the same house again

Fantastic house with a great layout! We had 10 people including 4 teenagers. They lived in the bottom level and had a blast. Very private. The fire pit area is very nice and we loved the corn hole boards. The second fridge is awesome especially when you have 10 people in 1 house. Would have loved to have had a dock right on the property and some kayaks. Great experience!

We had a pleasant stay, overall. The space was large, plenty of rooms and bathrooms so that we didn’t feel like we were constantly on top of each other. The location was easy to get to Wisp Resort, local restaurants, and a small shopping center. In general, the house is very nice. It could certainly use some upgrades though. Most of the couches are uncomfortable to sit in, they could use an update. The very first day there, a lightbulb exploded when we flipped a light switch and we had to call maintenance which came out the next day. A hot tub maintenance person showed up on our 2nd day and we had no idea they were coming but they put the hot tub out of service for most of the day. The kitchen table chairs are a tad wobbly, and could use an upgrade as well. Like I said, the house is nice but it could use some necessary updates. We came to the area at a less than ideal time, mostly everything was closed. That was certainly our fault - but we made the best of it and found an awesome local coffee shop right down the road. We’d certainly consider Summerside to stay at again, but this time during peak season :).

This house is very nice. It is much bigger than you expect and has great space. A little bit outdated from couches, beds, pool table accessories, and kitchen supplies. Besides that it was great for the price. The service is great too you can call jacuzzi service people and they will clean it. Great house and location.

We had a fantastic stay at Summerside. The house is very spacious, in a great quiet location with plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The kitchen is very well equipped and the TVs and fire places, made for great movie nights. We thoroughly enjoyed the loft for daily reading with a great view of the lake. Unfortunately, I have two complains though, the grill was absolutely filthy with layers of old food. Additionally, a lot of the furniture, mainly the tables, some of the chairs and the foosball table were very loose and wobbly. I think these are easy fixes and would make the house perfect. Would I stay there again? Absolutely. As a matter of fact, we are already looking for dates to go back. I hope to find these minor items fixed.

Spacious Home with a lot of Disappointment

Overall our experience was very mixed. The home itself is lovely and spacious. However, it needs a lot of updating, improved cleaning and a better description of the location. I'll break it down into different domains. Location: This home was described as "Private lake front". Perhaps I misunderstood this but I expect to be on the lake. Instead we were on the very, very end of a finger of the lake that was mud pit with a little stream running through it. This was EXTREMELY disappointing. We called Railey and they explained that if it had snowed it would have been more attractive. This is true but really not a satisfactory explanation. Cleanliness: I am very particular so please take this with a grain of salt: The home needed greater attention to cleanliness. There was dust/dirt under furniture (visible without moving anything), on top of the fridge, etc. The carpet in the basement was gross and the basement smelled like dampness or dogs. The walls down to the basement were dirty with what appeared to be dirty finger prints or something. Furnishing: Almost all of the furniture was very uncomfortable. For example, one of the sofas was so collapsed in the front it felt like you were going to slide off to it. I will say the furniture in the living room right by the front door was fine. The beds were also overall pretty nice. Upkeep: greater attention to upkeep (painting, carpet cleaning/replacement), shower door to the master bath on the 2nd floor needs to be repaired, the sink in the same bathroom does not drain, etc., the pain was chipper in many places. Positive: This really is a beautiful home. All the windows, vaulted ceilings, the fireplace between two of the living areas, etc. give it so much potential. It is really, really spacious and I very much loved the multiple living areas, it was just a shame all of the furniture was so uncomfortable. The master bedroom on the second floor was really spacious and lovely. I was really comfortable in that room.

Though Summerside is a Lake Front home (guests have direct access to the water without crossing a road or buffer strip), Deep Creek winters do often temporarily alter the landscape of some fingers of the lake. We understand your disappointment and regret that this impacted your stay. Additionally, we are sorry to learn that the housekeeping did not meet your expectations. Cleanliness is a top priority for us at Railey, and we do have a policy in place which helps us to ensure that our guests feel confident in the housekeeping: you can always give us a call within 24 hours of your arrival should you find any aspect of the housekeeping to be unsatisfactory and we will send someone to accommodate right away. For future visits to DCL, we encourage you to make use of this policy should you feel the need. However, it is our goal to have our rentals in tip-top shape prior to your arrival, and we’ll be sharing your comments with our housekeeping team to ensure standards are being met. We’ve also shared your comments regarding the furniture and general upkeep with the homeowner for reference when making updates at Summerside. Thank you for alerting us to these concerns. This home is located on, in our opinion, the best cove on Deep Creek Lake! Although there is a short walk through the woods to the dock where we kept our boat, the privacy provided by this home was worth it. It is spacious and easily, and comfortably, accommodated our family of 13, which included 5 small children. There were some minor issues that one would find in most rental homes, but after looking at alternatives, we decided that this home best met all of our needs and have booked it again for the same week next year!

The property/location was amazing,and everything we needed to get away and de-stress. The bedrooms were set up so perfectly for our multi-family group. The fire pit,foosball and pool table, and hot tub were used frequently! Also the free pool access was an awesome bonus! The only small complaint we had was the lack of water pressure. The shower upstairs and downstairs slowed to a trickle, which was super frustrating! Overall it was a wonderful time,and if the water pressure was taken care of we would definitely book again!

House has plenty of room, kitchen is a bit dated, I would not say it is lake front dock is a few minutes away best to use a car to get there. Overall a good experience.

Summerside was a wonderful property to rent! Our family with little kids loved the bright open living space (barely used all of the spaces) and the large deck was perfect for our kids to run around. The property was situated perfectly for access to local state parks, Oakland and amenities such as Walmart. Compared to other rentals we have been to we noted how even the spacious driveway was great for easy access for our extended family. We loved the fire pit, hot tub, pool table and access to the community pool. Every evening we took the kids for a walk around the neighborhood spying deer & chipmunks galore. The community water access was close, perfect for daily canoe rides. The property is at the end of the lake, if we were 1-2 properties over we would not have had as good of a view of the lake. There is no direct path/dock to the lake, which for us was fine. Already discussing going back! Thank You!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house was everything we hoped it would be and stated supplies were available. We had a leak in the ceiling from the rain storm, and after calling maintenance to let them know, they promptly arrived to check the situation. All was good!

My friends and I have been coming to Deep Creek annually for many years. We have used Railey Vacations exclusively to find and rent properties. Railey has an outstanding selection of homes, an easy and efficient rental process and quite reasonable pricing. When there are issues, which are few and far between, Railey solves the problem quickly and effectively. Great house and reasonably priced

Every house has pros and cons. This house can fit lots of people. My favorite thing was that common area was very large. Tons of sitting. Very quiet location. It’s not the newest or super modern house. But we were all greatly accommodated. Only things we were lacking is direct access to the water from property. But this is not related to the house itself.
