Our second August at Home Away From Home and again we can’t wait for the next August here. Amenities great especially the amount of light in the house and access to the water. Every day a joy to wake up and plan our day outside in the lake, on the golf course, fire pit s’mores ,attempts at fishing and this year, The Barbie movie

Great House with lots of room

The house was great. Lots of room on main level for family to spread out. Kitchen has just about everything you could possibly need. Homeowners have stocked house with games, books and puzzles House could use a little update/TLC. Dock is not right in front of house. There are two docks much closer than the one that is assigned to this house. It was confusing figuring out which dock was ours. Being right on lake with lots of grass leads to lots of goose poop. Don’t plan on kids playing in yard and plan on leaving a pair of “poop” shoes outside. Lots of poop on docks too. The rental company was wonderful to work with. Deep Creek is gorgeous and the location of house beautiful. You are about 20-25 minutes from McHenry

We also apologize about the issues with the geese, unfortunately during this time of year they arrive back to the lack and it becomes somewhat out of our control. The view from this beautiful home was quite the treat. The home was fully stocked with everything you would need to have a fantastic trip in your home away from home. The kitchen was large enough to have ALL 13 of us in there at the same time. We will definitely be back!

The house was perfect with the glass allowing so much light in the house. Kitchen great for large family. And beautiful view of lake and sky. We love jumping in the lake and taking out water "toys".

Multi-Generation Family Fun!

Our family had a great week at Home Away from Home. It accommodated my husband and myself, adult children, and two small grandchildren. We had room to spread out and took advantage of the large kitchen for meals. We loved being on the lake, the hot tub, and the fire pit. Having a boat slip was awesome, we rented a pontoon boat for 5 days, everyone loved cruising and tubing. We will be back next summer.

Home Away From Home Delivers On All Counts

This house is a true gem. It is kept in immaculate condition and does the best job we've seen so far in terms of maintaining that "newly built" "barely lived in" feeling about it. Some rental homes come with the collective clutter left behind by years' worth of renters but not Home Away From Home. Every kitchen cabinet and drawer has everything you need but is free of left-behind utensils, seasonings, condiments, etc. The main living area, bedrooms and bathrooms are all very clean and well maintained. The owner's of this property successfully check every box when it comes to offering a higher end rental experience. This house should be on the list of considerations for anyone looking for exactly that.

Lakefront location on Waterfront Greens was candy for the eyes. The home's vaulted atrium-like great room was spectacular. Kitchen and dining area made cooking and eating pleasurable. However, the upstairs two small bedrooms left something to be desired. Giving up lounge space to expand these two rooms would do wonders to improve sleeping accomodations.

Very clean and a perfect location! So many relaxing (walking, tennis, putt-putt, golf, fishing, hot tub, campfire,) things to do within walking distance. The state park is very close and has many hiking trails. It has a perfect view of the lake and the scenery looks like something out of a painting. So Beautiful!

Our party of 7 adults and 7 kids had a great time. The house is lakefront, with easy access to and from the dock and provides a great play area for all of the kids right next to the water. The location at the end of a cul de sac allowed the kids to ride their bikes safely. The adults enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub on a nightly basis. Everyone enjoyed the access to the par 3 golf course just up the street. The five bedrooms were comfortable, but two were a little small for a family. We didn't have any maintenance issues during our stay and the house was reasonably clean when we arrived. This was our fourth straight year staying in DCL for a weeks vacation and everyone from our party agreed that this was their favorite house out of all the years we have been down to the lake.

This lakefront property is perfect for a family vacation. We spent each day in the lake right out front the house, playing tennis, or playing golf. The house had plenty of space and the living room and kitchen were both huge! I would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time in this home. There were 5 couples. There was plenty space in the kitchen for a group to cook. Very clean. The view is beautiful. The house was spacious enough for us to spread out comfortably. We really enjoyed our stay.
