Fair winds and calm and relaxing days await with a stay at this beautiful lakefront property. With decks for days, this home was made for outdoor entertaining. Equipped with multi-level decks, a hot tub and built-in benches, there is room for everyone. Hike down the stairs to your private lakefront and dock to take the boats out for a day on the water. Warm summer evening can be spent around the campfire relaxing and reminiscing about the day and planning the days ahead. Winter nights can be enjoyed watching movies on the plush sectional in the sunken living room with the warmth and crackle of the fire place in the background as the snow falls outside. With fantastic restaurants, cute boutiques and other shops, and all kinds of on and off lake, summer and winter activities just a short drive from the home, you’ll have a fun and exciting stay at Fair Winds any time of the year. 

ACCESS DETAILS:
Lake access and dock slip are located down the stairs and path from the back of the home. Please note that docks are only guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

This home comes with free access to the Community Aquatic Recreation Center (CARC)! This fitness and wellness complex, located in the central Deep Creek Lake area, offers a modern gym and a full-size indoor pool. The free CARC membership is available to all guests in the home for the duration of your stay, up to the home’s full occupancy.

This home has great potential to receive 5/5 stars. However, at this time, I can only give it 3/5 stars. Before I share my concerns, which I hope will be remedied by the owners, here are many of the great things about this house. The house was a new listing, and I could tell that it was newly painted and had new carpet. There was a new, comfortable sectional sofa with plenty of seating, which was perfect for our family group of 6. There was a lovely kitchen table, a fully stocked kitchen with new stainless-steel appliances and granite countertops and it was delightful to look out of the windows and doors in the living room and see the lake. Despite not having air conditioning (No A/C was clearly stated in the description), there are fans in every bedroom and in the living room which keep the rooms cool. When we arrived, although the air was stagnant from lack of air circulation, we opened up the windows and doors, and aired the house out in about 30 minutes, making it very comfortable. I was pleased to see that the window and door screens were in excellent shape, without any rips or tears. The driveway is flat and circular, making it easy to park. The area is quiet and the rooms are cool and dark at night. This house has tremendous potential. However, I have a few concerns that need to be addressed, before I would consider staying here again. 1. Bathroom Cleanliness: While the rest of the house was clean and tidy (including the kitchen and the linens), I was disturbed that the bathrooms did not meet my expectations. There was clear evidence from previous occupants (soap scum and hair), and we spent the first evening cleaning. Had Will O' the Wisp had vacancies, we probably would have left. I was additionally bothered by the amount of cobwebs in the house. There were cobwebs in many corners and on the baseboards, in addition to many of the lampshades. While I understand that there are going to be some bugs when you're in the woods, the webs should have been vacuumed up before we arrived, which also would have lessened the number of "web-creators" that we captured and released during our stay. Fortunately, none of us are squeamish. It appeared to me that the house had been cleaned (minus the bathrooms) and then vacated for several weeks before we arrived. When a house in the woods is left vacant, nature starts taking over. 2. Uncomfortable Beds: Unfortunately, the mattresses were hard, cheap and uncomfortable. None of the mattresses had toppers and 2/3 bed frames were creaky and wobbly. After the first night of poor sleep, we went to WalMart to purchase padding to put on the beds. It helped a little, but in the middle of the 2nd night, I moved downstairs to the sleep sofa, which was by far the most comfortable bed in the house. We enjoyed our next day at Deep Creek, but left that afternoon, because no one wanted to sleep on the beds for our 3rd and final night. In conclusion, this house has great potential if the cleanliness issue is remedied and money is invested in purchasing high quality mattresses and toppers and better bed frames. I hope that the owners take these issues into consideration, because I would really love to see this house be the amazing vacation home that it can be.
