DESCRIPTION:

Surrounded by trees, summers at The Breakaway are green and lush, and the deck becomes the perfect place to grill up your favorite vacation meals, made better only by the tinkling of wind chimes in the breeze. When the heat swells, pack your leftovers into a cooler, grab the sunblock, and take a short drive to the lake for hours of fun in the water. Autumn and winter are serene in the Sky Valley community, and its walkable roads allow you to get out and enjoy the changing the leaves and the gentle snowfall at your leisure. Want the sights without venturing into the cold? Scope out your favorite spot on the couch and admire Deep Creek’s natural beauty through two sliding glass doors, all while being warmed by the roaring fireplace. In just a few miles, you can find a variety of adventure-packed activities for all ages! From hitting the greens at the Thousand Acres Golf Course to hiking at the State Park, to axe throwing, go-karts, and more you can ensure your getaway is full of fun for everyone. After hours of adventure, wind down with a restorative soak in the hot tub and fall into bed for sweet dreams of another great day in Deep Creek. When you’re ready to relax, we’re ready to have you! 

ACCESS DETAILS:
Lake access is a short drive down Ridge Road and Piney Point Drive to the parking lot. While this home does not come with dock access, dock slips are available to rent on a first come first serve basis through the Sky Valley Community Association for an additional fee of $15/day or $100/week. Please note that docks are only guaranteed from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Although we did enjoy our stay. Being in the forest was great! The deck was nice and the home had very nice flow. The kitchen was awesome and updated. New frig, stove microwave and dishwasher. Nicely stocked. If the home had AC I think it would have been much better. And a comfy couch. The Sky Valley area is secluded with very little street traffic, but not far from the lake and amenities.

Website said lake access but quite a distance from main portion of lake. Poor lighting in kitchen, bugs on bathroom floor when arrived. Trash disposal was inconvenient. Otherwise, very cozy with nice porch and hot tub.

Your feedback regarding the poor lighting in the kitchen and the presence of bugs on the bathroom floor upon arrival is noted and will be passed along to our homeowners as well as our housekeeping staff to ensure that it is promptly taken care of. Regarding the inconvenience with trash disposal, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused but we do have little control over it due to the homes location in the HOA. My wife and I stayed there for 3 nights, a long weekend. We’ve stayed in many homes around deep creek, and this was easily our favorite. We’ll definitely be back!

Pros: Kitchen - Super well stocked kitchen and really nice appliances. The stove/oven are great, the external toaster oven is also an Air Fryer. Two different coffee makers were great, too. The kitchen is also stocked with tons of tools, pots/pans, tupperware, bakeware, and even some of the core spices if you need them. There are blenders, crockpots, hand mixers, knives, etc. One of the best rental units in terms of kitchen cookware/tools that I've been in. Size - If you're a small group or just a couple with their pup, the size of the unit is great. It has a good sized primary room with a king, a queen bed in the second room, and the third room can be an office or you can use the futon. In addition, its super convenient to walk your dog with two entrances to the deck. Hot Tub - The hot tub is right outside of one of the sliding glass doors, so if your whole party isn't in the tub, it doesnt feel like you're away from "the party" like many units who have hot tubs below the deck. Cons: The Fridge does not have an ice maker or a water dispenser, so bring bottled water or prepare to use/drink the tap water. The fireplace doesn't have doors to shut/open so you cant quite suffocate the fire when its time to go to bed. Also, the fireplace grate is so small its hard to balance a good bit of logs in there. Lastly, we only used the King bed, but it was extremely uncomfortable. It was "ok" to sleep on your back or stomach, but extremely hard to sleep on your side. As others have said, the trash situation in Sky Valley is a bit annoying and confusing. Lastly, the couch is also easy to tip and move when the recliners are out - it needs to be weighted down or attached to each section of the sectional or something. The location of Sky Valley is not *far* but its also not close to Wisp or the rest of the downtown. ~25 min drive. Overall - would definitely stay again. The house is definitely owned and cared for by a family and not just a rental. That shows!

everything was pretty good. the only thing that was disappointing was the sink in the primary bath is clogged and not usable. other than that, we would stay again.

The house very nice and cozy…definitely enjoyed the beautiful fireplace and hot tub. Checking in was a little crazy….when I got their their were people their still and I was suppose to check in at 1…they said they had no idea someone was checking in early. I had to wait for them to pack up and leave before I could entire the home…however I was reimbursed the money I paid to enter the home early so that was definitely a plus. We had do a little bit of cleaning up after that couple has left but other then that the place was very nice.
