While these homes do not have access to the lake, they potentially offer many other great benefits, such as beautiful mountaintop views, quiet communities, great locations, and more. You can reserve a boat ahead of time at a local marina, or access the lake through the public state park, which offers a sandy beach.
  2. Golf Area
    Refers to a selection of our properties which are the most conveniently located within or near a golfing community. Some homes under Lake Front, Lake Access, or Lake Area categories may also be considered a Golf Area property.

    This home offers access to the Community Aquatic and Recreation Center (CARC) for indoor pool and fitness use, at no extra cost! Our party of 7 stayed here in January 2024. Perfect size for our group. Excellent location. Close to skiing but private and perfect for our dogs. House seemed new and plenty of dishes, utensils, etc. comfy beds. Only criticism would be TV in family room is too high and it was not clearly stated ahead of time that we could not use the fireplace which was disappointing. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our weekend at the cabin.

The house was very nice with the exception of some concerns. Beautiful decks and wood work. We were disappointed there was no working fireplace. Looks as if it is started for a gas fireplace but not completed. Would have been nice with how cold it was. The bedrooms are good but two do not have a closet at all which is odd. There isn’t one hook in any bathroom to hang a towel or pajamas. The downstairs bathroom has a light fixture that is leaking. Someone’s dog left a present under the pool table from many months ago. The pool table needs fixed. It is very wobbly. The kitchen is very nice. Updated appliances and nice countertops. The problem was the blender didn’t work. It had a note in it from June 2023 that it was broken. When we went to make dinner there was mouse droppings all over the cabinets, pots, pans, dishes and silverware. We saw some mice running around in the early morning. The house is newer and has some nice additions. Lighting and hard wood floors. There seems to be a lot of wasted space and limited seating in the living room area. The outdoor decks are nice but it was too cold and snowy to use them at this time of the year. The hot tub was a nice treat !

The house was nice but there were some issues. First, the pictures are deceiving because they used a wide angled lens, so the property is smaller than posted. The covered porch was awesome, nice to sit outside even when raining. The house was very clean with the exception of the blinds which were very dusty. The main living area, kitchen and dining table were nice and even though smaller than pictured, we were only a little crammed. The dining area/table needs more light though. The appliances all worked as expected but we would've liked to have seen a beverage fridge downstairs. The primary bedroom door would not stay closed, there was a leak in the bedroom coming from the second floor, there was a broken window crank and the fan switch shorted out allot. The laundry room was nice but needed some storage as there was a crock pot and other pots just sitting on top of the dryer. The house could definitely benefit from a pantry especially for guests with longer stays. The loft area was nice and so were the upper bedrooms. Light switches were not labeled so it became a fun game trying to figure out what switch worked what. The bolts holding the pool table together were all very loose, some had fallen on the ground so the pool table nearly collapsed the first time we used it. The pool sticks had a allot of missing tips and there was no bridge. Use of the community center and indoor pool was a nice perk. As it was a rainy weekend, would've like to have seen a collection of games/puzzles and if there were some, we couldn't find them. Overall, this was a nice cabin and our group had an enjoyable time. There are some things to be improved upon and some fixes that need done that hopefully the owner will consider or correct but again, this property is worth checking out.

Pros: -Rustic furniture selections were very nice, e.g., beds, dining table/chairs, sofa/chairs/tables/lamps…all seemed good quality -Lake/bear décor and bedding and lighting package was very nice -Wraparound covered deck was very nice -New build, overall looks very nice and inviting…very spacious for the 6 of us, but sleeps up to 12 -Appliances were new, but stovetop surface was already looking very worn and scratched, washer/dryer worked well -Plenty of dishes, bowls, glassware, etc. -Granite countertops were very nice -Very peaceful and quiet, enjoyed the wildlife, saw small black bear and lots of deer -Fire ring and seating area was nice -Night lights in master bath nice (should place in all bathrooms)

My family had a very enjoyable stay. The location is quiet and peaceful. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had an Easter egg hunt around the house that everyone enjoyed (the kids couldn't find 4 eggs, so maybe you'll be lucky!). Located in the Biltmore community, it is convenient to shopping and activities. This was our third stay at this home and we plan to stay again.

Mountainside is a great house and property that is very secluded. It is clean and well-stocked to make a family gathering simple. The only challenge is finding it. DONT use Waze!! Use Google Maps and you will be fine. We were blessed with once-a-year perfect snow conditions for the kids to play and have a great day at WISP. It should be on your list to do.
