Home as bigger than it seemed online. The great room/main floor is great for everyone to sit at a table and cook in the kitchen. The walk from the lake to the house is steep and the dock could use updated. Even though the house only has A/C in the bedrooms the house in general had fans provided everywhere and was comfortable. We would stay here again in the future. Lot's of space and very comfortable.

The house was nice and fit our family well. The bear decor was adorable and having the additional beverage coolers was very handy. The kids, both big and small, enjoyed the pool table and other games. We definitely got our steps in for the week!

For the price, it was adequate. It was spacious and had direct access to the water. The kids loved all the games, etc and we found everything we found the kitchen well-stocked with plates/utensils/etc. Maintenance on the property however screams of either a manager or owner (or both) who are just looking to squeeze dollars out of a tired rental. Here are things we found and provided to Railey:Unsafe dock (not secured properly; missing stringers; rotting boards) - we appreciated they came out to try and secure it some but they said they would pass to the owner that it needs to be replaced; hopefully it is done very soon. Water coming in the house (living room) during heavy rain, Unmowed/trimmed perhaps since first of season (we stayed over memorial day); the pretty decent distance/elevation between house and dock needed round-up or at least to be trimmed. This said, we all had a good time and while we probably would pay more to pay somewhere nicer next time, the above didn't keep us from enjoying our time.

Thanks for opening up your home for others. We have a large family (6 kiddos) and needed a place large enough to fit us all when celebrating our sons 10th birthday and my 40th this past weekend. Your home provided enough things to keep all the kids busy. The views of the lake from this spot are amazing. We really enjoyed all the games, pool table, and hot tub provided. We have stayed at a lot of places down here over the years, and this one is now one of our favorites. Also adding this is the first trip our dogs (who are 7 & 8) were able to come- and I'm pretty sure sure my one dog could be a lake life dog for life (haha). My kids want to love here and I couldn't agree more. Maybe someday, somewhere on a lake. Beautiful home, thank you!

We had a great time at bear creek lodge. Everyone had plenty of room and the living rooms were super cozy. The kitchen was big and stocked with all the appliances you could ask for. The backyard was picturesque and hot tub and fire pit super relaxing.

Our stay was amazing! There were 10 adults and one dog during our stay. I think the pup had just as much fun as we did looking out all of the floor to ceiling windows! There is plenty of room for everyone to be together or stray away from the crowd. As in previous posts...the pictures really don't do this home justice...IT IS HUGE! All of the gaming tables, sitting areas, large dining room table and hot tub were all thoroughly enjoyed during our stay. The weather was a little too cold (8 degrees mid-March) for an outdoor fire, but we made the most of it and took a quick stroll down to the lake. The morning sunrise and view of the lake were stunning. Everything was comfortable, beds, couches, etc. and the kitchen was stocked with just about everything we needed. We had planned on going out during the day to explore Deep Creek but ended up just staying at the house and appreciating it. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for loads of space and plenty of things to do. Summertime would be a blast! Thrilled with our stay...we will be back!!!

The inside of the property is very pretty. This is definitely a home for kids. Lots of games and pool table, fuzzball table, air hockey. The walk to the pier is steep and the home only has partial AC so it was hot.

Our best cabin ever! Our extended family of 14 had a wonderful time over Presidents’ Day weekend. The lodge was just as spacious as we’d hoped with plenty of seating and the kids loved the game room. I walked down to the waters edge and enjoyed the peaceful sunrise and the bird activity. Would love to come back in warmer weather!!

Bear Creek Lodge surprises you at its entrance, layout, views and more! The foyer opens to three upper level bedrooms and a grand log stairwell that leads down to a fantastic great room, open kitchen with two islands and ample counter space and a full wall of window doors for access to a stone patio complete with more than enough seating for everyone for eating all fresco and s'mores around the firepit. Six bedrooms. Four bathrooms. Two recreation rooms. Casino style pool table room to host our Blackjack night! Two refrigerators and gadgets and appliances galore. Wven an air fryer! The Bear touches throughout gave authentic ambiance. The game room/office became out beauty bar for cosmetic and beauty item "shopping" Everyone loved the space and their own space. Great relaxing getaway

The house overall was very nice with a magnificent view of the lake from the lower level only. We did have a few housekeeping and maintenance issues. I want to thank Terry from Railey who came to fix a plumbing issue in the kitchen. He saved the day because we were not going to be able to use the kitchen sink and that was a must since we do a lot of cooking. He also swapped out the shower head which improved the water pressure in the lower level bathroom along with some other minor repairs. Aaron and DJ came back the next day to swap out one of the other shower heads.

This properly has so much potential (adorable decor, fun games, stocked kitchen, great bedroom layout for families), but it was clear when we stayed at the end of the summer that it had been rented, hard. Home needs a good deep clean (there were cobwebs and crumbs) and items that are worn or broken need to be replaced. We probably wouldn’t stay here again until those items are addressed.

The Bear Creek Lodge was a great home with plenty of room for our family. There were enough bedrooms and bathrooms that were all comfortable. The living area was large with enough seating for everyone, a large television, reclining sofas allowed for comfortable seating. The kitchen was well equipped along with two refrigerators and the kitchen table was large enough for everyone. There were plenty of games, pool, shuffle board and a large variety of board games. There is a nice fire pit outside on the patio for nights outside. The home itself was great. BEWARE of the walk to the Lake and Dock. The walk is steep and has approximately 100 steps that need to be traveled to and from the Lake. If you are traveling with a young family, you may be ok, however even those in great shape had a tough time Our family was traveling with our 98 year old great grandfather who is still capable of walking and getting around, but he could not get to the Lake, Dock or boat we rented. We needed to drive him to the State Park in order for him to board our boat. We also had our 72 year old grandmother with us, she was able to get down to the Lake and back up but unfortunately limited her trips to once daily. Be prepared, do plenty of cardiovascular exercise prior to your trip to prepare for your journey to and from the Lake. I’m not joking, we were left out of breath on our return from the Lake. This was quite disappointing as we rented a boat for the week of our stay. We really did enjoy the Lake and Dock once there but dreaded the walk back, leaving us to limit our trips to the Lake. Our second complaint was the lack of garbage pickup and the area for garbage disposal. The garbage was not picked up during our stay which left me no choice but to call Railey. They did clean up the garbage which was littering the street but the receptacles were left filled, leaving us nowhere to dispose of our garbage. The bear proof box needs to be bigger and equipped with more receptacles. Finally, we really could have used more air conditioning units in the home. This was properly documented in the homes advertisement but it’s just a suggestion as it did get very hot in the house. In summation, the Bear Creek Lodge is a great home, it’s well equipped and comfortable but unfortunately the walk to the Lake and Dock was not what our family was looking for.

Lovely House, but Lacking in Many Critical Areas

The house itself was lovely and fit the needs of my group of friends, but unfortunately it was lacking in many areas. The main living area was very nice, were several new leather couches that reclined and fit at least six people. The TV was great and huge, great for watching movies in the night. The beds were adequate and the bathrooms worked just fine, but they were nothing fancy. My main complaints are directed towards the kitchen and the backyard. Lots of the kitchen appliances and accessories were not in good working order - broken wine fridge, dull knives, broken griddle, pots and pans with lose handles, lack of critical accessories (bottle opener/corkscrew). In the backyard, the landscaping and lighting of the backyard was poor and dangerous. The stairs down to the dock were in a dangerous condition and the majority of the wooden beams were rotted. The lighting down the stairs was inadequate - I think there were two dim lights. All of the other lights were not working or broken out. Also, the grass in the entire backyard was overgrown, leading to lots of mosquitos and other bugs. Overall, the house was great and fit the needs of the large group, but for the price we paid, I think there could be some simple but vast improvements to make it worth its price tag.

We've been touring Deep Creek rentals for 12 years now and this has to be one of the most beautiful living spaces we've ever tried! Well maintained, comfortably arranged and beautifully decorated, this was a gorgeous oasis in the peaceful Harvey's Peninsula area. The main entrance looks deceptively small from the front but this contains the upper bedrooms, and expands into another major living space downstairs. Kitchen was well apportioned with generous prep and dining space, extremely comfortable living room with reclining couch seats, fun outside shower, and dog-friendly! Lightning fast Wifi and once we figured out the remotes, great TV! We lacked for almost nothing except were surprised that central A/C wasn't included (missed that on amenities list) and although there were window units in some of the bedrooms, there weren't in all -- possibly because they may overload circuits if all are blowing at once, but if the space can handle the load, please install so a full-house allows for comfortable sleeping in 90's weather, which we had even in late June, and the mattresses could use an upgrade. The friendly and responsive staff at Railey was quick to provide additional window fans for the bedrooms without. Also be aware that a wonderful and comfortable dock is provided, with a swim ladder, chairs, and great lighting even at night, the hike down and up left the middle-aged crowd winded and was not possible for our elderly guests. We were able to manage this by driving them to an easier walk behind Arrowhead Market but this required coordination and extra planning. This may mean a different property for our family next year, but if you have a young healthy group who can handle the steps up and down to the dock, you and even your furry family members will love this peaceful and beautiful lodge!

Bear Creek Lodge is very roomy and comfortable. It is not the newest of accommodations but it has everything there you need. It was great to be able to take our dog as well.It was nice to be on the lake but the walk to the water is quite steep. So if you are taking elderly parents or small kids be prepared. We would go back!!

The house and location are wonderful. With such a comfortable nicely kept house and the beautiful lakefront setting, it was surprising that the outside was not kept up as it should be. The ramp to the dock was dangerous as the replaced trek boards were slippery and there was no warning. The outside should at least have had the broken items removed from the patio and should have been swept. But I would go back because of the lakefront access and view.

The place was big enough and very spacious for all of the family members that attended our family vacation. There were enough bathrooms as well for everyone to use so that no one was not able to use a bathroom at one time. However, the water pressure for the showers were terrible except for the master bathroom shower. Bear Creek Lodge is on the water but in the description it fails to mention that you have to walk up and down 83 steps to get to it. We had older family members that were not able to enjoy the pier due to the lack of information in the description of the place when booking it. The description of the place also says that propane would be provided to grill with and we didn’t have any. Although, when we did call maintenance, they dropped off propane right away for us. One of the burners on the stove was broken, the fire pit table had a hole through it so it was almost impossible to build a fire and the dryer also did not work. Bear Creek Lodge has a lot of potential but definitely needs some maintenance attendance.

While the images for Bear Creek Lodge do show the stairs to the dock, we do understand how differently these can appear in a photo vs. in-person. We will be sure to have our maintenance team take a look at the stove, firepit, and dryer to make any necessary repairs; we appreciate you alerting us to these issues.
