We had a lovely time staying here! Relaxing in the hot tub and using the fire pit made for a very lovely weekend. Would be a great place for a family to stay as well.

Overall the house was cleaned very well and there were plenty of bath towels provided, except the comforters that had not been washed. However the hidden driveway made it difficult to pull onto and off of the very busy road that the house was located on. The hot tub was very nice, the AC, TVs and wifi all worked great. But again we were expecting something much more private and secluded (more so then the little bit of privacy fence that was there). There were other houses all around (not shown in the pictures on the listing) and located on a busy road (also not shown or mentioned in listing). Other then that though, everything we went out and did was no further than a 15 minute drive, including Swallow Falls state park. It was nice to be within close proximity to most of the attractions around the lake.

The cottage was exactly what we were looking for to camp for a weekend. No frills, but modern conveniences like air conditioning, comfy beds and a hot tub made it a comfortable stay.

The Apple Cottage was very cute and clean! The kitchen amenities were really nice, the pans were all new and the cups, plates, and cutlery were plentiful. The beds were comfortable, the AC unit was strong (which was nice because it was HOT out) and the grill appeared to be brand new! The only two things worth noting were the hot tub had a ring around the inside so we opted not to use it...not sure if that was a cleanliness issue or simply age. The other thing to mention is that the house is in a great location, very close to restaurants and lake access...but...it is situated right along a very busy road, getting in and out of the driveway safely was a challenge and the road noise was quite loud at times. The front porch was very cute but we didn't spend any time there due to all the passing traffic. However, the back yard had a very nice fire pit set up that we used each night, as well as a picnic table for all our meals. All in all, it is a very nice rental, perfect for 2 couples or a couple with children.

This weekend getaway was everything we hoped it would be & more! The cozy cottage took you back in time to the simpler days of log cabin life & was complete with all the modern amenities necessary for a relaxing, enjoyable stay. It was well air-conditioned & all of the appliances functioned properly. The patio with hot tub & grill were an added pleasure, with the neighboring shady woods providing entertainment from local wildlife. We will definitely stay here again at some point! Great stay for a very reasonable price!
