Located on the lakefront of scenic Deep Creek Lake, this expansive chalet is the ideal spot for a getaway any time of year. The interior of this home is complete with classic furnishings and lots of room for all of your friends and family to come together. The large great room, equipped with a natural stone fireplace and picture windows, is the perfect spot to spend a sun-soaked morning as you prep for the day ahead. Spend some time breathing in the fresh mountain air from the spacious back deck, expansive patio space, or relax around the fire pit after a day on the slopes. The warm bubbles of the hot tub (NEW July 2022) will help soothe any sore muscles you may have. You are only a short drive- or boat ride!- away from local attractions including shopping, restaurants, four season activities, and several state parks. This home comes with free access to the Community Aquatic Recreation Center (CARC)! This fitness and wellness complex, located in the central Deep Creek Lake area, offers a modern gym and a full-size indoor pool. The free CARC membership is available to all guests in the home for the duration of your stay, up to the home’s full occupancy.

Really a spectacular home. Loved the two refrigerators and dishwashers. The shared dock was fine, but we would have preferred a private dock.

Beautiful home stocked with everything you need. Nice pathway to the lake however no real access, there is a pavilion but it is only for the house next door.. It is located very close to other homes (as in you can see in their windows) so if you want privacy or a little more country you wouldn't want this home . We were a little disappointed in the cleaning end when we got there some of the beds were not made (sheets laying on dressers) and towels were only on sinks in a pile . (Maybe this is normal) Needed to wipe counters off as there was some crumbs etc. on them and some cobwebs in the downstairs bathroom shower But we were guessing we were probably the first rental of the year. So some glitches. Then the home next door had sewer issues so we got to smell sewer for most of our stay as it drained right on the path we had to the lake. But truly glitches, I think. The home itself is very accommodating for large groups.

We appreciate you taking the time out to leave us a review Polly, and we sincerely apologize for the issues with the cleanliness. Our housekeeping staff strives to provide the best level of cleaning possible, however we are only human and sometimes we do miss our mark. In the future please do not hesitate to call into our office and we will quickly send out a housekeeper to remedy any issue you may have. Otherwise we are pleased to hear that overall the home was well equipped and spacious for your large group. Almost Aspen was the perfect spot for our 50th college reunion of 8 ladies. It was within 10 minutes of a boat tour, a massage, wine-tasting, state park for hiking, eateries, and groceries. The dining room table was gorgeous and huge! Kitchen had everything we needed; almost everyone had her own bathroom; beautifully appointed; fantastic fire pit and deck; nice easy/level walk to the beach. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The driveway is a bit hard to find and turn in when it is dark. We all loved this house and will come back again if we are able!

A great house for our group. We have five couples. Each bedroom has an adjoining bath which is a great feature for us. The kitchen is well stocked. The large dining table is a real plus We called maintenance several times for some problems. No heat in the lower level no firewood leaky faucet latch on trash bin needed to be fixed.

Almost Aspen was awesome. We spent almost a week at Almost Aspen and the place was incredible. I would recommend this to anyone. We had a large group and there was ample room for everyone to do their own thing or hangout as a group especially at the fire pit and around the dining room table.

A great vacation home for the extended family. Layed out perfectly to accommodate a larger crowd without ever feeling crowded. Perfect view of the lake and a convenient and private location to dock a boat. All in all, a very cozy place to put up your feet on a lazy summer day.

We had originally booked a new home under construction and were disappointed when we got the call saying we wouldn’t be able to stay there. However, my daughter found almost Aspen was still available and we really enjoyed the patio/fire pit, the deck and waterfront location! Road construction was a slight inconvenience but not enough to impact a great week shared with family!

The property is very nice. The driveway is easy to miss when first arriving. Multiple people missed it however once you know where it is- it's ok. The house is accommodating and was perfect for the size party we had. There was 16 of us. We were supposed to have 20 but some had to cancel. The house would have accommodated all 20 but I do believe it wouldn't have been as comfortable. We did see someone walking across our drive way the day before check out and was taken aback a bit only to realize they dropped tubs off on our front porch. I did not enjoy looking at the tubs for the better part of visit ( we were only there one full day) however I can appreciate wanting to be prepared for the next visitor. If I were to come back in the area I would look at this home again. It was spacious and accommodating.

This is our third time staying at this house, and we love it even more this time. Each time has been an excellent experience but with some minor flaws that we provided input to improve (first time the wifi was very slow, first and second times the hot tub didn't work), this time everything was working perfectly! The layout fits our family very well, the location is ideal, the quality of the furniture and amenities is excellent, and the kitchen is exceptionally well-appointed. Each time we come we notice the owners have made upgrades and improvements that add to the positive experience. This time was no exception, we love the new hardscaping in the backyard! Made enjoying the firepit and roasting marshmallows so much more enjoyable. Excellent rental location, highly recommend!

This House was neat clean and our group had everything we needed to have a great time. Maintenance. kept the driveway cleared. This home is walking distance to the Hony Hony Bar and has a great view of the lake! Very close to ski.

Our family of 19 rented this house for a week. We range from ages 19 months to 75 years and there was plenty of space and privacy and something fun for all ages. The house was very well equipped with extra amenities. Highly recommend!

Almost Aspen is a wonderful vacation home! It was very clean, comfortably furnished and in an ideal area. Quiet part of the lake close to shopping and some restaurants. The kitchen was amazingly equipped. Having the outdoor patios and ample furniture to relax in was paramount to our enjoyment. We highly recommend this home!

In the last year, we've not received any complaints regarding the hot tub at Almost Aspen nor has any service beyond basic maintenance been required for this hot tub. I do not see any maintenance requests submitted under your reservation and we sincerely regret that we were unable to address this concern prior to your departure. We understand how disappointing inoperable amenities are, particularly guest-favorites such as the hot tub, and we'll have our team take a look at the hot tub to ensure everything is in order for future guests. In the future, please know that you can always give us a call should you experience any issues at your rental and we'll send a team member to assist. The house was beautiful, great location, great fire pit, 2 separate dishwashers were a nice feature. Unfortunately a group of 20 people, adults and kids, next door took over the shared dock area.

The home is very cozy & spacious. The lakeview is absolutely gorgeous. All rooms are large enough for family time and the home is large enough for people who want separate quiet time. The whole family really enjoyed ourselves! Would definitely rent there again. *Bring firewood for s’mores, your favorite movie for a family movie night, & your favorite games for a family game night (there were a couple at the house).

What a lovely and spacious house! The layout was perfect for our theee families, with kids ranging from 6 months to 12 years. The giant kitchen table accommodated everyone, with room still for a puzzle and a high chair. We hadn’t realized beforehand how helpful it would be to have both multiple fridges and multiple dishwashers! On the fun front, it was just so fun to be able to wander down to jump in the water multiple times a day. This was a perfect setting for us and we would love to stay there again.

The clothes dryer needs to be serviced or replaced. We have rented a different house every summer for the past 5 years at DCL. Almost Aspen was the nicest furnished home ..... comfortable beds and wonderful kitchen, perfect for our large family group. Great location as well!!

Great location and able to accommodate a family of 15 comfortably. We used it for the WVU graduation weekend and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The bear on the porch the last night was an added thrill to remind us we were far away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

We had a family reunion with our children and grandchildren. For the most part Almost Aspen was great. However, there is an open drain in the laundry room which really concerned us - who knows what is growing in there. Another concern was that when we arrived there were 4 windows open and a sliding door unlocked. It didn't look like anything was missing so we didn't call the office. But we would all go back, we had a really fun time.

We'll take a look at the drain in the laundry room and if something like the window/door situation should ever happen again (it shouldn't, this is very out of the norm), please give us a call. More than likely the windows were left open during the cleaning/inspection process to allow in some fresh air, but we would certainly always want to be made aware of the situation so that if nothing else, we can ensure this doesn't happen again. House is beautiful. all furnishings and amenities in great shape and very comfortable. Suggestion to improve the WiFi, it is horrible! Not sure what the owner pays for but the connectivity was spotty and very slow. Other homes we have rented that were not nearly as nice had much better Wifi, improving this feature would make this place top notch all the way.

Wow, spectacular place for our large group to stay. It had everything we were looking for while staying for the weekend. Would highly recommend this place and would rebook again for sure! Lake view was awesome. Just wish we had better weather to take advantage of the firepit area. Hot tub was great!

Beautiful home only one downfall

Beautiful home and the space was perfect for the 14 of us. Could have fit plenty more people given they had a pull out upstairs, extra beds in several rooms, and two other cots we found in the closets. The views only added to this house. The only downfall was that we were so close to the other homes with little privacy when on the back porch or in the back yard. People actually used our backyard to get their backyard. So on both nights of our trip we had people walking through our yard while we were outside to get back to their houses. That is why I only gave 4 stars.
