This is lovely place. We loved the great lake views, easy access to the water, the covered porch facing the lake. The inside was nice and the kitchen was well-stocked with pots, pans, dishes, utensils, etc. Furniture and beds were comfortable enough. Hot tub was enjoyed several times. No issues with the check-in process.A few things kept us from giving 5 stars:- The place was a little more care-worn than it appears in the photos.- The heaters on the main level are quite noisy. If we had needed them more, it would have been quite annoying.- The house has no A/C, which was not a problem for our stay, but could have been in the heat of summer.- If you plan to cook and like good knives, you should bring some. The ones provided were only fair.

We absolutely loved staying at Smooth Sailing! There were 7 adults and two small children and there was room for everyone to have their own space. We were extremely close to the water (maybe 50 yards) and the dock is a really nice spot to hang out on or jump off. There were plenty of dishes and appliances to use. We would definitely go back to this spot and maybe just pack a couple of pots & pans for cooking as the teflon ones there are severely scratched. It was heavenly!!!

I would definitely suggest staying at Smooth Sailing. The lake was only about 40-50 yards from the back porch. There's plenty of room for people to spread out and it sleeps 10. Some are bunkbeds but if you have younger people, even adults, who don't mind that, it's the perfect spot to spend a vacation at the lake. The dock was great to jump off of and we rented a boat that we could dock there as well.

Very quiet, peaceful setting with easy access to the lake. The house has no air-conditioning, had we realized this we would not have rented it during the summer.

The house was comfortable with a great view from outside and wonderful shallow water right outside of the house -- perfect for small kids to enjoy the lake without concern. It was a good size and price for four adults and small kids. Location was a bit far from everything (25 minutes from most of the restaurants and hiking). It was quiet and calm, we had the lake to ourselves, but it took a while to go anywhere else. Bigger beds were comfortable for adults, but twins were clearly intended for children because the mattresses were thin. The kitchen was minimally stocked -- zero cooking basics, scratched non-stick pans and the bedrooms were bright in the morning without blackout shades. The stairs in the house are challenging. They're high, uneven, and awkwardly spaced with no banister on the bottom half. Also beware the back patio if you have concerns about falling -- the stairs out there are also big and uneven and a few loose stones and moss growth made for some slip hazards. Overall, we enjoyed the trip, but I'm not sure I'd book the house again because of the concerns above.

Loved the location, in a nice cove without a lot of boat traffic. Big flat yard , very nice dock and hot tub, adequate outdoor furniture. The house was nice and the kitchen has everything you need if cooking in. My only complaint is that the master bedroom is the only one with functioning screens. Two bedrooms have broken screens. One bedroom has no screen at all. The screen door to the sliding glass door does not latch closed and blows open if it’s windy. It is inconvenient to not be able to open windows or doors in a house without air conditioning. More importantly, this is very dangerous for a family with small children. Second story windows with no screens and a door that doesn’t close in a lakefront house is a fatality waiting to happen.

A very quaint home nestled in our favorite part of DCL on the southern shores. This is the perfect house for a family of 8/9 people. We would rent it again. We would recomend this home to others. We had a great week. The lack of AC was no issue as fans were ample in each room and the cool breezes were wonderful.

This home was exactly what we were looking for! The location was amazing with private lake access and views that can’t be beat! Evenings in the hot tub followed by s’mores by the fire made for the perfect getaway! Also, the home was spotless, and the kitchen offered all of the essentials to prepare a family meal. This place truely felt like a home away from home! We will be back next year for sure!

Smooth Sailing was the perfect house and location on the lake for our long weekend getaway. This was our first trip to Deep Creek Lake and we will definitely be back.

Smooth Sailing was a great little cottage right on the water. The access to the lake is unbeatable! The house was clean and provided all the necessities one may hope for on a lake vacation. We would definitely rent here again!

Big, flat yard

The big, flat yard was perfect for the kids and I especially loved the sandbox for my son. It was the most relaxing and beautiful vacation spot I have ever been to. Neighbors were friendly and enjoyed quiet morning walks. Everything we needed was in the house! Cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was.

House and property were perfect for a weekend getaway. Location was beautiful and remote. Spent lots of time outdoors fishing and sitting around the fire pit. A lot of ducks, geese and deer in the area. House was adequate; more than enough room for the 4 of us and we used the kitchen several times for meals. Ca not wait to come back!

Lake Fun

Our granddaughter made a sign that said "Lake Fun" to use in our vacation photos. It described perfectly our stay at 1100 Acres Road. Early morning fishing from the dock, afternoon swims, and evening marshmallow roasts made for happy summer days for our extended family. The four bedrooms provided comfortable sleeping arrangements for ten people. The large indoor dining table with bench seating and two outdoor picnic tables accommodated our group as well as guests. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils and the convenient washer and dryer were put to good use. We loved the location on a quiet inlet and the easy access to the dock and water. Lake fun for everyone!

This place was so great and close to the water! A great fire pit and a beautiful roofed porch. The dock was great for fishing. A jacuzzi was a plus!! Our stay was one of the best places that we have rented and we do plan on returning, God willing!

This house is small, but cute and comfy. Great location. Amazing yard! We spent most of our time outside which was perfect. Between the firepit and hot tub and the dock, we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. The beds could use a slight upgrade.

We had a nice stay. Level yard was great for playing catch, frisbee, etc. Dock was great, easy water access. Hot tub, grill, dock were all in very good shape. Fire pit close to water was nice. Kitchen, dining and living spaces were nice. The property represents better in person than it does in the photos. The location is quiet and comfortable.

No trouble with the property. Lessons Learned: Cell phone coverage is spotty in the area so have a plan i.e., maps to get around if you are unfamiliar with the area. All in all, we had a great experience!
