Outdoor Activities Wisp Resort

If skiing and snowboarding isn't your thing, you can still have fun in the snow too! Snow tubing and sledding have always been a favorite childhood memory. Now at local resorts, you can enjoy tubing and sledding no matter what age!

Wisp Resort Tubing Park

Tubing is an easy winter activity because it doesn't take much skill to go flying down the hill. The worst part is usually the hike back up to the top of the hill. Wisp makes it easy at their tubing park. It keeps the fun and thrills of snow tubing, with added conveniences to enjoy the park all day. No equipment is needed, they provide the tube. Once you're ready to go, step onto one of the conveyor belts to ride up to the top. After that, choose from one of the 12 groomed tubing lanes, each 750 ft long, and slide on down to the bottom.

Sledding

For an extra thrill, check out the longest sledding park on the East Coast! Located just 45 minutes south of Deep Creek Lake, and definitely worth the drive,  you'll find Blackwater Falls State Park. Here you can take a trip down the sled run which is more than a quarter mile long! Ride the Magic Carpet in your sled through wooded paths up to the top of the hill, then start the sled back down. This makes a great day trip if you're looking for something different to try!
