This gorgeous home is located along quiet Mayhew Inn Road, just a few minutes away from Swallow Fall’s State Park and Maryland’s tallest free-falling waterfall. This quiet country road is covered in trees and picturesque hills, perfect for a quiet retreat in nature. The spacious deck, gas grill, and outdoor hot tub make it even easier to enjoy yourself under the shade of the trees! During your vacation, you are sure to enjoy warm fires by the native stone fireplace, shared meals along the large dining room table, and countless games of foosball in the lower level recreation room. The four bedrooms are all comfortable and well-designed, entitling each and every guest to their own private retreat within the home.  For time spent together and time spent in nature, there is no better retreat than Missy’s Mountain Hop!

The free CARC membership is available to all guests in the home for the duration of your stay, up to the home’s full occupancy.

Only complaint was cleaning could have done a better job in the showers and with dusting. But we would stay with Railey Vacations again.

Nice house, but with some downsides

The home is very nicely styled and appointed. It's location is OK in terms of lake access and distance from other activities. The kitchen is well stocked and the appliances worked well. The hot tub is nice and worked well. However, there are many small things that are 'wrong' with the home that led to some frustration - the living room couch seems to be quite old and sunken in, one of the top bunks is not sturdy enough even for a child to sleep in, a lower level side table leg is broken, the TV stand in the main living room is broken, the water pressure in the showers was very low, and the grill's propane tank was empty.

This is a very cozy home with a well supplied kitchen. There was every type of utensil, pot and pan you would need. If you are looking to relax and escape, this is the place.

Great weekend at Deep Creek Lake

We enjoyed our stay in Missy's Mountain Hop. The house was clean and very spacious. The only negative was the living room sofa and dining chairs. They were "well used" and would sink extremely low when seated...so low it was difficult to get up. The microwave didn't work so we had to use the oven instead. So other than the extremely uncomfortable seating and no microwave, everything else was nice.

Beautiful Mountain House Retreat

Very comfortable house for 6 adults to enjoy. Nicely decorated and the deck was spacious for all to have dinner on. A comfy sitting area as well. The dining area was large enough for all. There were plenty of dinnerware and cookware. Bedrooms and bathrooms very spacious. Beds very comfortable. Hot tub was a nice get away in the evening. Maintenance of the spa was well posted, clean and works well. Plenty of games and books at the residence. Only things missing would have been a fire pit outside, we did use the inside fireplaces as the beginning of our week the weather at night was in the 40’s. It was a nice touch. If the bar in the lower level would have a built in sink we would have utilized that area more, it is rougher in but not cut through the counter top as of yet. A laundry tub in the laundry would have been nice as well, we could have use it for the missing one in the bar area. We all had a great time. Thanks Rick and Lori

This was a great woodsy rental. Close to Lake and we saw deer across the field and in the driveway.. We also heard coyote at night which was exciting. It was a very nice place, they have a fenced in yard but do not accept pets though... We left our furry friends at home, but wish they would consider. The bedrooms slept 8 nicely and the extra room could really sleep one on the fouton. I would definitely rent again.

Quiet and well-appointed rental!

The house was extremely spacious for 4 adults and 5 children. The elementary school aged kids absolutely loved being able to share the bedroom with bunk beds. The home was clean and well maintained, and everything was as advertised (gas grill had a nearly full tank; plenty of wood for the fireplace, etc.). The location is very quiet with nearby houses sufficiently distant that you feel as if you are all alone. It is conveniently situated, though, such that state parks, bait, gas, groceries, boat rentals, etc. are all just minutes away. Lake access is just down the road. It is a small piece of shoreline for a shallow weed bed. It would not be great for swimming, but may be good for bass fishermen rigged up for dense vegetation.
