First, it’s a peek of yellow, then orange and red! Temperatures cool and fog rises off the lake in the morning. Crisp mountain air is revitalizing after the busyness of summer. Join us when the lake is clear and take the time to simply breathe. Your choices are endless in the fall! Deep Creek Lake boat rentals are available until early October and the Autumn Glory Festival of Oakland has been called the #1 fall festival by msn.com!

Enjoy a cool kayak ride on the still glass waters of the lake then warm up with a pumpkin spice latte from Trader’s Coffee House. Take advantage of the season to explore the many delicious cuisines offered by fine restaurants that dot the lake.  Don't miss out in the many events throughout the fall which showcase the beauty and fun of the Deep Creek Lake area.

September

Labor Day marks the end of summer for many, so why not end it at the lake? Once the three day holiday weekend is over, we kick off Fall! Mid-September is when the leaves start to change. Bright yellows start to pop up over the mountains and by the end of the month, they are a bright sea of warm oranges and reds. September is also known for the Deep Creek Art & Wine Festival and the Savageman Triathlon. Both are great events to check out when you're in town!

October

Our peak leaf-peeping season is in the beginning of October! The colors are at their brightest at the beginning of the month but are still beautiful to see throughout the whole month. The annual Autumn Glory Festival is solely dedicated to celebrating the beauty of autumn with parades, craft shows, shopping, and so many more fall-themed events for the whole family. If you plan to visit Deep Creek in October, visiting Autumn Glory is a must!

November

This month begins the transition from fall into winter.  Although we have seen snowfall in October in previous years, it is not surprising to see some flurries throughout November. If you're visiting for the holidays, many of our homes come equipped with a full kitchen to cook your holiday meal in, or many restaurants offer to make the dinner for you! After Thanksgiving is over, it is the start of the holiday season. You can get in the holiday spirit by visiting the Festival of Trees to view some incredibly decorated trees and shop for locally made crafts.
